False Hope of Spring [Poem?] (68)

I wrote this early this morning on the train. I don’t love idea but it was an idea kicking around in my head yesterday.

Waking up in the morning you notice the birds chirping; the sky is crystal blue. Before you leave the house you kiss your significant other goodbye. The fight from the previous night is over. We have a fresh start today.

By midday it’s snowing and it’s all anyone wants to talk about. You receive a call – the same question that started the fight. False hope.

By evening there’s a full on blizzard. The fight at home is worse than ever.

Perhaps tomorrow will be a better signifier of spring. A place for new beginnings.
