Early Morning [A Poem] (78)

The color is absent

from everywhere but streetlamps.

On the silver bullet

color lives a lie.

The florescent lighting

tells a reality only brought by the sun.

When the train ride is over

and you emerge from underground,

Sunrise

has no majesty.

We’ve taken it for granted.
